What was the highlight of Koh Ngai Resort

Peaceful & relaxing stay

Hotel is directly at the drop off point for boats which is convenient for arriving and departing. Peaceful and quiet only a few other guests staying. We were able to use kayaks for free. The hotel is very isolated meaning we spent the whole time at the hotel and ate at the hotel also however for some this may be an issue. Food was good but slightly more expensive. This was expected due to being on an island.

Rooms are basic but the location and views make up for it and make it worth cost.

after some refresh of the bungalows and bathrooms, we will be willing to come back there

beautiful location, great views, snorkeling equipment, kayaks to be rent for free. friendly and very helpful staff

Lovely location.

The beach is gorgeous and the snorkelling off there beach was surprisingly good. The free use of kayaks was also a lovely touch.

The price of the food at the restaurant and portion sizes (which were really small). The Thai food was not particularly good and was way over priced. The min mart prices were also very high. Resorts on the main beach had much more reasonably priced food and their mini mart prices were more in line with average prices, slight increase but not exorbitant.

Wonderful

Very good value for money - hotel rooms (the cheapest) are very basic but if you don't mind that everything beyond was fab. Amazing snorkeling just off the beach. Short but picturesque walk to the other beach where you can find more resorts and some restaurants. The manager is a super nice and helpful lady!

Prices in the restaurant a little higher than on the mainland but it is normal as it is an island

Wonderful

We enjoyed our week here. The snorkellimg from the shore was good. The ocean water pool was fun for the kids. The kayaks were fun. And we really enjoyed the social atmosphere at breakfast and dinner in the restaurants. It is the oldest resort on the island, which shows a bit in the facilities, but everything met our needs. We had a great time and would stay there again.

Good

The bungalow room was good enough , a bit small, but large balcony. The place is reachable just in the arrival pier , so this facilitate the access with the speedboat with no change. The view was really nice just in front of the beach. The staff is so so , one person was really nice , the other one looked grumpy all the time. The place is amazing for snorkeling, and it's free, the staff provide you the equipment.

The restaurant was a bit expensive for what to except. If you wanna go around this hotel, you have to climb rocks and you can't do that late in the evening because it get darks and you can't see anything. Snake Cobra has been reported has seen to go around on those track with rocks, i didn't see personally. So unfortunately we couldn't move around, and we had to eat in the same hotel restaurant all the time. You can however take the taxi boat but be back before it gets dark.

Medium PRICE-PERFORMANCE ratio, friendly and very accommodating staff, medium Wifi, location directly at the pier but no roads in this area only the hotel, walking to main beach very difficult only by boat about 5 minutes, no infrastructure around hotel, the beach was not suitable for swimming as the water level is very low.

Great spot lovely staff but needs some upgrades. Watch out for Jellyfish.

The staff and manger are really friendly and helpful. The beach is stunning and the sand is beautiful and soft. Great for snorkelling. The food is good compared to the few restaurants on the island and not that expensive just don’t get the burger. Free kayaking and nice pool.

The first night we stayed in the building complex room 303 which to be honest needs to be knocked down. The rooms look like they haven’t been renovated in 30 years. Our bathroom sink was not draining and under sink we had inches of infested water. The beds are just awful, it was too late in the evening to move so we slept in the room for one night. We had to upgrade to a bungalow which was a million times better. They gave us one nights upgrade for free but we had to pay for the other two nights. The walking path to the other beach is not recommended with small children use a kayak instead.

I want to come back! Real paradise with a lot of fish and reefs!

Location has pros and cons. It’s good because you feel isolated and detached from the world. And not really good because you don’t have options on food. The resort, beach, room were really great. No complaints at all. Very quiet. Coral reef is gorgeous! Thanks for free snorkeling set and kayak.

Food at the restaurant is not so good, it’s edible but I wouldn’t eat there. Also it’s quite expensive (150 b, minimum). Next time I would bring some fruits with me from a mainland.

Good

a well kept, but outdated resort directly by the beach and the pier. So very handy when you arrive. the food is good and everything is working. Breakfast is good - buffett. Staff are friendly. Snorkeling in front of the hotel was really nice at low tide early evening by the reef. a lot of colourful fish. You can also borrow a kajak for free for three hours from the resort which is nice.

after 5 in the evening you basically can't leave the resort for the big beach with all the bars and restaurants. It's low tide and no taxi boats are operating anymore. There is a walking path through the forest and the sea, that is really difficult to walk, very slippery, parts in the sea (so not walkable when the sea is high). We only tried it once and got very stressed out in the dark. if you try wear really good shoes/sandals. So in the evenings you have to stay at the resort. We also tried to take a taxiboat after breakfast to the main beach. unfortunately staff was not really helpful for getting a taxiboat to come from the main beach. the asked us to wait until one comes to drop people off from the main beach and refused to contact the taxi boats for us. only after we waited for over 40 minutes someone called and the boat was here in minutes. the main beach is very close. We booked a tiger lines ferry to Koh Lanta from there and also this ferry does not leave from the main pier where the resort is. So we had to get a taxi boat from the resort to the main beach. Again a lot of persuasion needed to contact one to get us, as we had to be there on time to catch the speedboat from the main beach.

Due to the isolation 2 days is enough time at this resort.

Quiet, nice beach. Staff were helpful with our ongoing transport. Enjoyable evening meals.

Very isolated. All seating in restaurants wooden so more cushions for comfort. Also sunbeds were plastic & very uncomfortable so cushions would have been ideal.
